RMCC Television and Radio
RMCC TV
RMCC TV is a locally-produced, community-based television station broadcasting on channels 19 and 27 in Polk County. Programs range from public service and information about local businesses, to school music and sporting events. We also cover local politics by interviewing candidates for office. Currently we are developing community-produced programs such as "Pet of the Week", "Senior Moments", and local weekly news. The new studio is located in the Maddox Building. The RMCC TV schedule changes weekly according to community events.
KRMN-LP RADIO
KRMN-LP 101.1 FM is Rich Mountain Community College’s a low power FM
station operated by students and community volunteers as part of the
media programs at RMCC. The radio station went on the air in February
of 2004. An eclectic mix of easy listening music is the programming
template which also provides an opportunity for student or other
special interest music programming.
The goals of the radio program are threefold:
- Provide educational opportunities in the field of radio broadcasting.
- Provide the community with a local noncommercial radio station
responsive to the
informational needs of the community.
- Provide a diversity in programming.
Additional programming includes the old time radio programs of Lum and
Abner, two of Mena’s native sons. Opportunities abound in both the
radio and TV program and are limited only by the imagination of the
student.
