Talent Search


 Educational Talent Search primarily targets middle and high school students from Polk, Scott and Montgomery counties to assist them with college preparation. ETS participants are students who demonstrate potential for postsecondary education, but may be lacking in resources and knowledge to prepare adequately. Two-thirds of participants in ETS must meet income requirements families and also be first generation college students. Educational Talent Search began in 1994 at RMCC and is one of the four TRIO federally funded grant programs located on campus.

Who is Eligible?ETS Students

ETS services are available to 6th thru 12th grade students who reside in Polk, Scott, or Montgomery counties. Most participants are required to meet income requirements and be first generation students.

What Services are Available?

v College Preparation
Assistance with entry and re-entry process to GED, College or Vocational school
Assistance with the college application process
Monthly visits at school to provide workshops for college preparation

v Financial Aid Assistance
Information about financial aid opportunities
Assistance with completing the Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA)
Assistance with locating and applying for scholarships

v Career ServicesSharing
Career Exploration
Provide career information and exploration
Expose students to real life careers during Career Day at RMCC

v Summer Enrichment Activities
Rising Freshman Technology Camp on RMCC Campus
Rising Senior College Campus Tour around the state

ETS Students are selected from referrals by School Counselors. Are you interested? Contact the counselor at you school or one of the names listed below.
