Educational Opportunity Center is a federally funded TRiO Programs that offers free assistance to adults (19 and older) with the process of entering into a post secondary education program (beyond high school). Although housed at Rich Mountain Community College, EOC does not recruit for RMCC, but aims to assist individuals with the often confusing process of entering college throughout Arkansas. EOC provides assistance and information to adults who seek to enter or continue a program of post-secondary education. It also provides information on financial and academic assistance to individuals who want to pursue a program of post-secondary education, and to provide assistance to such persons for admission including preparing necessary applications for use by admissions and financial aid officers.

Who is Eligible?Student Worker

EOC services are available for persons who reside in Scott, Polk, Montgomery, Howard, Sevier, or Pike County and are primarily from low income,first generation backgrounds.

What Services are Available?

v College Preparation
 Assistance with entry and re-entry process to GED, College or Vocational school
 Provides information about post-secondary education
 Assistance with the college application process
 Administers COMPASS exam for college entrance
 Assistance with preparing for other college entrance exams (ACT or SAT)

v Financial Aid Assistance
 Information about financial aid opportunities
 Assistance with completing the Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) 
 Assistance with locating and applying for scholarships

v Academic Advising
 Choosing a College 
 Choosing a Major
 Class Selection and Registration
 College Transfer

v Career Planning
 Provides career information 
 Administers career interest inventories and exploration
