As a parent, you know that education will be the most important asset for your son or daughter in the years ahead. We know that you have questions and some of the most frequently asked are answered below.
Frequently Asked Questions By Parents
What types of scholarships and financial aid are available? RMCC offers need-based financial aid such as the Federal Pell Grant and academic scholarships for qualified students based on academic, scholastic, community service, leadership characteristics. Students who wish to apply for grants, loans, and work-study must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Copies of the FAFSA are available in high school counseling offices or online. RMCC's priority financial aid application deadline for the fall semester is April 1. For information regarding these options, contact the Financial Aid Office at (479) 394-7622, Ext. 1420. RMCC currently does not provide loans.
When will my son/daughter register for classes? New students will register during late July and early August. Registration dates will be advertised on RMCC's webpage, local cable TV, local radio stations, and through local print outlets.
Do you offer online classes? RMCC does provide a limited number of online courses. We offer a variety of alternative delivery methods to meet the growing needs of our diverse student population, including e-mail, Internet, telecourses, and distance education options. Please note, however, that alternate delivery classes are often the first to fill, so students should register as early as possible!
Are campus tours available? Personal, student-led campus tours are given Wendy McDaniel, Director of Admissions. To schedule an appointment, call Wendy at (479) 394-7622, Ext. 1440. Be sure to mention the program your son or daughter is interested in, and we'll attempt to set up a personal visit with a faculty member as part of the tour.
Is there housing available? At this particular time, RMCC does not provide housing.
Is the campus safe? Yes! RMCC has a wonderful safety record. You may view this record by looking at our Campus Crime Report.
Do I have to pay all my son or daughter's tuition and fees at registration? Payment is due by the first day of class unless payment arrangements have been made with the Business Office. For a nominal fee, a payment plan, e-Cashier (Nelnet), is available for our students who wish to take advantage of paying tuition on installments. To find out more about this service, click here.
