RMCC student cookout

BCM lunches - Every Thursday from 11:00-12:45 across from RMCC at the Ouachita Association Office. And, it’s FREE!

Welcome Back Day – During the first week of classes of each semester, SGA sponsors a Welcome Back Day. Activities, food, and fun are offered to welcome back the college community and kick off a new semester. Some of the activities include wax hands, computer portraits, and other interactive items.

Fishing Derby – Each semester when the weather is warm, SGA sponsors a Fishing Derby for the kids of RMCC students. One of the ponds on campus is stocked by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission with large catfish. Prizes are awarded for largest fish. A hot dog cookout accompanies the Fishing Derby too.

Halloween Festivities – Each year SGA sponsors fun events to celebrate the Halloween season. Candy, tricks and treats can usually be found.

Christmas Food Drive – SGA places boxes around campus and encourages the students, faculty, and staff to donate nonperishable food items to help feed the needy during the holiday season.

Spring Fling – When the weather gets warm and everyone gets a little spring fever, SGA sponsors a Spring Fling day. Hot dogs, and hamburgers are grilled in front of the Maddox Building and large outdoor novelty items are placed in the quad for students to enjoy. Spring Fling is usually held the third week of April in conjunction with RMCC Community College Week.

Others – SGA also sponsors other events and activities as the need and opportunity arises. Some events include a Super Bowl party, a send-off for the National Guard unit, serving as ushers for graduation, etc.
